Acting as the curatorial Brain Committee for the 2nd Shanghai Museum/Gallery Staff Biennale, cultural workers Yu Yin and Ji Haoru grounded their work in two years of archival research and the embodied experience of cultural workers. The curatorial framework builds from the bottom up to examine the marginalized realities of art workers.

This research culminated in Beyond Systems (以退为进), presented in Shenzhen in collaboration with Arbre Art Space. Featuring nine artists who hold the dual identities of institutional employee and independent creator, the exhibition sharply examines the tensions between structural systems, artistic practice, and the complex lived experience of cultural labor.
